Research Project topic

For my research project i was thinking about writing about the psychological aspects of war. Using that as a lense i would talk about Anne Frank's diary and other victims of the holocoust or war in general, depending on what i find to talk about de-humanization. Just basically the process in which they break down an individual little by little. So like in Hitler's case he started off in small things such as making jewish people wear the stars and then, drastically to shaving their heads.. etc.. to totally break down the individual.. I indend to explore this by using examples from autobiographies of women who have been in these situations... And using psychological data to re-inforce how these methods work.

This sounds like a very interesting topic. I'm sure you could find plenty of information relating to the psychology of
Hitler's methods and how the people were affected. I like your lense with the aspects of war. I would suggest using PsycInfo to find resources for your paper. There is an article called Analysis of Holocaust Survivors by Gustav Dreifuss. I hope that is helpful.

Hi Natasha
I think you did a really good job on your e-poster and the class gave you some good feedback. The class was wondering how you were going to relate your topic back to the class so you need to make sure your primary source is a real primary source. Dr. Smith said to be careful with whether it is intereviews or the survivor's children's actual writings. An autobiographical account will be very helpful. You need to change the word children, to girls in your research question and add the idea about biological and psychological effects to your question as well. When you are writing about the biological change, the class said to be careful with whether it is actually a genetic effect or a psychologically affected biological change. Good work!
